Samantha Barham

Chief Executive Officer

Spindlebeak founder, Samantha, was raised in Chesapeake,  and graduated from Great Bridge High School. She also graduated from George Mason University, where she was a four-year scholarship swimmer. Swimming has always been her passion, and she fell in love with the sport at a very young age.
Over the years, she had the opportunity to coach with TAC, Mason MAKOS, Cheshire Forest, Chesapeake Serpents, ​Oscar Smith High School, and Hermitage Country Club. She became an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor at 16, an ARC Lifeguard Instructor in 2016, an ISR Instructor in 2018, and she officiates VHSL swim meets.

Samantha is also the Hampton Roads AGON Swimwear representative, providing custom bathing suits for local teams, which is exciting and fun! 

Before teaching swim full-time, Samantha's background was in civilian government contracting. She ultimately fell in love with teaching humans of all ages how to swim. She has been teaching in Chesapeake for over 27 years, have taught thousands of local children, and have even trained many of those same swimmers to become lifeguards.
Thank you so much for following my page! I love sharing my incredible students and their progress—it truly never gets old. My next session begins February 2, after a much-loved holiday break.
